A Licence to Operate a Boom-Type Elevating Work Platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

OUTLINE

This course specifies the outcomes required to operate a boom type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes, and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.

The course requires the operator to plan the work, conduct routine checks, set up elevating work platform, operate elevating work platform and shut down and secure elevating work platform. This unit is based on the requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

Delivery

Training is delivered over 3 days face to face including theory and practical training over 2 days with an assessment on the third day.

Outcome

On successful completion of training and assessment, participants will receive an Assessment Summary to apply for their National Licence to Perform High Risk Work.

Conditions

Participants must be over 18 years of age, be able to speak and understand English and provide 100 points of identification as per WorkSafe NSW requirements.
